My farmor's kanelbullar recipe (the real deal)
I've been making these since I was little. My farmor always said the secret is cold butter and a bit of cardamom in the dough. Here's the full recipe with step-by-step photos.

How to open a Swish account as a newcomer
You'll need a personnummer and a Swedish bank account first. I went with Handelsbanken — they were the most helpful with my situation. The whole process took about 3 weeks from applying for personnummer to having Swish working.
Lucia concert in Stockholm — December 13
The annual Lucia celebration at Storkyrkan is one of the most magical things I've experienced in Sweden. Tickets go fast, so get them early. The children's choir is unbelievable.
When do I use 'i' vs 'på'?
I keep mixing these up. I know 'i Stockholm' but 'på Gotland' — is it about islands vs cities? What about 'i skolan' vs 'på universitetet'? Any simple rule?
Best hiking trails near Gothenburg in spring
Just moved to Gothenburg and looking for great day hikes. Tried Delsjön last weekend and it was beautiful — any other recommendations? Ideally something reachable by tram or bus.

Sushi Yama — Gothenburg
Hidden gem near Avenyn. The omakase lunch is incredible for the price. Fresh fish, beautiful presentation, and the staff are so friendly. Highly recommend the salmon sashimi.

Affordable stays near Abisko for northern lights
Planning a trip to see the northern lights in November. Hotels in Abisko seem very expensive — has anyone found good budget options? Hostels, cabins, anything works. We're a group of 4.
Looking for Swedish conversation partner in NYC
Hej! I'm a B1 learner living in Brooklyn. Would love to meet up once a week for fika and Swedish practice. Happy to help with English in exchange! I work near Union Square during the week.

What actually happens on Valborg?
I keep hearing about Valborg / Walpurgis Night but I'm not sure what to expect. Big bonfires? Singing? Is it like Midsommar? What should I wear? This will be my first one in Uppsala.
Dagens ord
smultronställe
/ˈsmɵltrɔnˌstɛlːe/
A hidden gem — literally 'wild strawberry place'
“Det här är mitt smultronställe.”
This is my secret favorite spot.
